On A Scale From One to Ten...

...With ten being the lamest, most dorktastic thing you can imagine:

How lame is it that I caught myself Googling the phrase "how do I move boulders in Pokemon Diamond for Nintendo DS" last night at 10:30 p.m.?

Also, that I became super excited this morning when I learned that they are making Ender's Game into a movie?

Sigh. On second thought, don't answer that. I don't think I need confirmation of my nerd status so early on a Wednesday morning.

jenn- man, I loved Degrassi. It pretty much formed my entire middle school Health curriculum.

Beej- Ha!

Ace- Yes, I did. Today's was marginally better.

you crack me up.
And I can't believe they're making Looking for Alaska into a movie -- we must plan a 007 outing so we can all go see it!

I'd give it a 6.
But that's coming from a nerd, who is married to a nerd, and who lives amongst the nerdy tribes in nerdland.

Dude! why is ender's game this cult classic book? I read it after a week of seeing the title about 6 times randomly. Yes it was interesting and had that neat twist at the end, but really, is it all that? Please clue me in. I want nerd status!

moogan- hooray! I thought for sure I'd get some 7's and 8's so far...

kelli- totally. We'll make it a group outing. It's supposed to come out this year!

wm- I'm proud of my nerd heritage. I come from a long line of nerd ancestors. I'm glad we're on the same page.

erikka- Ender's Game is awesome for many reasons: 1. it's classic sci-fi fantasy. 2. it has an awesome ending. 3. it takes the runty little underdog kid and turns him into a god among men, something most kids only dream about when they get picked on. 4. it's a rather apt commentary on today's society (politically and socially), even 30 years after it was written. Plus, it's going to be awesome as a movie. Hopefully.

beej- I think the BookExpo might make me MORE nerdy. Just sayin'.

OMG, wait! I think I forgot to say this in my last comment but I have a group of high school friends that gets together every year and EVERY year we have to play Pokemon Puzzle League. They only make it for the old system so someone inevitably has to cart it to wherever we are but we literally spend HOURS playing this game. It is the BEST game ever. And want to hear dorky? I bought a Nintendo DS so that I could play this game at home, alas they don't make this game for the DS. Maybe I should check out yours....

i'm a little nervous that ender's game is going to suck as a movie. which would just be unfair to the awesomeness of the novel. but i'm sure i'll see it when it comes out. i wonder who they'll find to play ender...

l sass- I think we need a nerd theme song. I'll think on that one.

w- you don't know Ender's Game? You should definitely check it out, before they ruin it on film forever.

bb- I try to keep pictures of myself off here (with school children being so web savvy and all), but we can all thank ben for announcing my nerdliness to the internets.

lisa- pokemon puzzle league?! I don't know that one, I'm new to the pokemon scene. I know, I know, late bloomer and all. but seriously- pokemon diamond for DS? so fun. (apparently there's also a pokemon pearl, which was like the highest selling DS game ever or something...)

lara- it could totally go either way. but done right, it could be SO AWESOME.

I've no clue what you're talking about but I'm thrilled beyond belief that there's going to be a Hellboy 2 movie so I'm not going to be throwing any nerd stones.
